Happy New Year
I’ll confess. It’s been quite a while since I’ve had a drive post anything. Life in 2019 was, well, hard. 2019 had a lot of exciting twists and turns, and in fact, it was a year ago today that I decided to leave my job a Fuller and “Abraham It” into the “land that I hoped God would show me.”
While we aren’t Christmas Card people we do have some highlights:
As I shared about last year, the passing of my grandfather was one of the more challenging losses we endured. We are coming up on a year since his passing, and I am striving to honor his memory with the same kindness and generosity he always showed us.
I took a great part-time job at the Wesleyan Holiness Connection. While this was experience was far too short (see next update), I loved having the opportunity to connect with leaders in an inter-denominational context — sewing seeds for the future.
While working at the WHC, I had the opportunity to explore vocation and try to discern what was next. I found this season ironic since I am the author of a blog on calling discernment - aren’t I supposed to have this figured out? While we still feel transition around us, I am excited to now be serving as the Director of the Career Center at my Alma Mater - APU.
We got in a pretty serious car accident in May that we are still healing and recovering from. I’ve learned to be patient, listen to my body, and have been so blessed with a great Chiropractor who is attentive to us. Sometimes healing can be slow, but all healing is miraculous.
We are expecting. Baby Z should be here any day (Late January/ Early February), and I’m excited to have a little re-brand - Husband | Father | Chaplain.
2020 will have its unique challenges, joys, growth areas, and transitions. Change is our only constant. But we believe 2020 is pregnant with more than just our lil’ guy. It seems cliche, but can you agree that there is something sweeter in the air in 2020?
